PerfectPlaces to buy vacation rental sites from Weather Channel Interactive

Perfect Places, a vacation-rental website, revealed it intends to scoop up four vacation-rental websites from Weather Channel Interactive.

Perfect Places didn’t reveal the amount of money it plans to pay, but says the transaction will bring it Weather Channel Interactive’s forGetaway.com, RentJillsHouse.com, LakeRentals.com and CoastRentals.com.

All of the websites that Perfect Places would acquire have much less traffic than Perfect Places which, in turn, has much less traffic than competitors including HomeAway and Flipkey, according to Compete Inc. statistics.

Perfect Places says vacation rental property owners on the soon-to-be former Weather Channel sites will have the option of listing their properties on Perfect Places, but won’t automatically be migrated over.

Perfect Places says it current lists about 50,000 properties globally.

The vacation-rental market has been seen as relatively hot, an up-and-comer, and got a lot of buzz with HomeAway’s Super Bowl ad on Sunday.

Perfect Places has yet to commit to a similar marketing blitz for next year.
