TripAdvisorPro – premium service for hotels? Not so fast

tripadvisorproConspiracy theorists and sleuths among us were intrigued when we observed the existence of Twitter account @TripAdvisorPro.

Is it the first hint about some kind of TripAdvisor premium service for hotel owners?

Or another new business line?

After learning of the dormant account — TripAdvisorPro has yet to issue a tweet — several weeks ago, I got an answer about it from a TripAdvisor spokesman yesterday.

It turns out that the TripAdvisorPro Twitter account was established by a TripAdvisor employee in the UK.

“No definitive plans for the handle yet, but it is not for any new product or offering in particular,” a TripAdvisor spokesman says.

Well, we’ll be following just in case.
