Plenty of attention in recent months has been on Tiger Woods, his indiscretions and whether his sponsors – including the NetJets private jet portal – would stick by him.
NetJets decided to continue their financial support of Woods, unlike business consultancy Accenture which dumped the player within days of his motor vehicle accident in Florida and as the media unravelled his details of his private life.
The sponsor roster of many of the world’s leading golfers includes fashion brands and equipment suppliers – but interestingly the private jet portals can actually be found littered across the second tier sponsors of players.
In before the dramatic US Masters tournament in Augusta last week, the top ten golfers in the world were busily attracting the corporate marketing spend of a number of jet portals, hotels and, surprisingly, a pureplay travel technology provider.
- Tiger Woods – NetJets
- Paul Casey – Sentient Jet
- Lee Westwood – Oceanico Group
- Ian Poulter – MarquisJet (NetJets)
- Padraig Harrington – MarquisJet (NetJets)
- Ernie Els – Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP)
NB: Many of the world’s top golfers also attract the support of Dubai-based hotel resorts.
