TravelClick introduced an iPhone and Android app for niche hotels in partnership with Mobiata and VFM Leonardo.
The free StayHIP by Mobiata application is geared for “boutique, unique experience and small luxury hotels,”  and features large images, video, and property descriptions for hotel listings, TravelClick says.
Bookings are handled within the app.
“When a StayHIP user decides to make a booking, the booking is completed 100 percent within the application – no need to leave the application to move to a browser,” TravelClick states.
“Email confirmations are sent, based on the user’s personal contact information, from the app domain. The user can then also post limited details to Facebook or Twitter. For future bookings, user information is stored on the phone for a faster, more efficient booking process.”
Consumers can search for hotels using their smartphones’ GPS functionality or search by city.
In addition, each hotel can choose three keywords, such as “contemporary, luxurious, urban” that best fit their properties and users can search for these keywords in “a game-like manner,” TravelClick says.
Mobiata developed the application with TravelClick and Mobiata is the publisher, TravelClick says.
VFM Leonardo provides the hotel photos and streaming videos for properties which have a video distribution agreement with TravelClick or VFM.
