US Airways adds Gogo Wi-Fi

US Airways added Gogo Inflight Internet service to all of its Airbus A321 aircraft.

The Wi-Fi service is good for laptops and Wi-Fi-enabled mobile devices when the aircraft ascends to at least 10,000 feet.

On flights of more than three hours within the continental U.S., the service costs $12.95 for laptop users and $7.95 for passengers with mobile devices.

For flights outside of the continental U.S., regardless of duration, the price is $9.95 for laptop users and $7.95 for travelers using cellphone and other mobile devices.

US Airways, which had unfruitful talks with United, is still much in the news these days as a possible acquisition target, perhaps by American or other carriers.

American, too, uses Gogo for Wi-Fi — so at least there wouldn’t be any tech integration problems on the Wi-Fi front.
