WAYN shows off fruits of Rummble partnership with first mobile service

A few months after announcing a strategic partnership between WAYN and Rummble, members can now see the first efforts via the travel social network’s first app.

Available to Apple iPhone and Android users, WAYN’s app is in some respects an obvious, if slightly late, play for the social network given its functionality.

The system does much of the same functionality of the main WAYN site, including adding multimedia and discovering where friends and friends with similar interests are located and what they are doing.

One interesting element is the use of the Rummble recommendation engine bolted onto the app.

Rummble’s system recommends places and things to do based on other user’s preferences and experiences, an element that suits the mobile world given that many members would invariably be using the service when on-the-road.

Much of the back-end work was carried out simply by tapping into the existing Rummble service of local recommendations and listings of things to do.
