Google-ITA Software deal: US Airways expands ITA relationship

There are no reports of any companies dropping ITA Software yet because of its pending acquisition by Google and, in fact, US Airways just expanded its ITA relationship.

US Airways agreed to agreed to install ITA’s QPX solution across its call centers to decrease transaction times and improve customer service, the companies say.

“There’s no doubt the addition of QPX to our call centers creates greater operational efficiencies. But customer satisfaction continues to rise dramatically as well,” says Kerry Hester, US Airways’ senior vice president, operations planning and support.  “We now have a more consistent brand experience, and we’ve made it easier for our customers to quickly find the information they need regardless of how they contact us.”

The airline has been using QPX for its website since 2001 and ReShop in its call centers since 2009.

So score this one as a win for ITA Software.

Other partners are known to be mulling their shopping and pricing options as the Dept. of Justice reviews the Google-ITA Software deal.
