Amadeus to provide competitive intelligence to destinations, hotels

Amadeus has a lot of airline booking data, to say the least, and the company utilizes those numbers in a new product that helps hotels and destination management organizations gauge how they measure up against the local market.

The new product, Forward Keys, from partner Forward Data, enables revenue managers to quantify demand by measuring hotel bookings against the number of air-passenger arrivals in home markets on a particular day.

The Forward Keys tool, Amadeus says, also compares budgeted occupancy against forecasts for occupancy in that market and identifies dates where there are opportunities for the hotel or DMO to make some gains.

Amadeus says Forward Keys will provide improved benchmarking tools for hotel revenue managers, who traditionally rely on historical information.
