Check before you leave – live webcams on Google Maps

There are a number of destination webcam sites dotted around the web – but very few where the webcam viewer is contained within a single map.

Step forward GeoCam.tv, a simple service similar to sites such as Webcamvue or Webcams.travel but which has managed to integrate over 1,000 live webcams from around the world into Google Maps.

Now, some of the webcams feature rather less than entertaining snapshots of an office scene, but there are some interesting positions around the world – not least so potential visitors can check out the traffic or the weather before arrival.
