AirCruise tour anyone?

How’s this for off-the-beaten-track vacation transportation — A guided group tour on private planes to private airports.

That’s the proposition of Mauiva AirCruise, which is being featured on Travel Holdings’ LastMinuteTravel.com.

The pitch goes like this: “Trade the road for the sky.”

“By destination-hopping via private plane through private airports, guests will have more time to see more and do more — all at a price point that is the same, or even lower than the average coach tour, or independent fly and drive.”

There are a couple of AirCruise itineraries being offered, such as this 6-night Western [U.S.] Wonder Experience, with the comprehensive package selling for $1,669 per person, based on quad adult booking and including  private planes, access to airport lounges, stays in branded hotels, breakfasts and dinners, plus gratuities etc.

Mauiva AirCruise is a partnership between Mauiva and Travel Holdings, with Mauiva provding the aviation support and Travel Holdings chipping in with the ground and operational supports, says Lauren Volcheff, a spokeswoman for Travel Holdings.

June and July departures are running at 65% occupancy, Volcheff says.

LastMinuteTravel is offering online booking for the AirCruise packages and online chat for help is available, too.
