The free app contains advertising and the paid app, available for $3.99 per download, offers TripIt’s itinerary management service without advertisements cluttering up the works.
Meanwhile, the Brussels-based Global Videoconferencing Network and TripIt have completed some integration work.
TripIt now recognizes travelers’ GVN videoconferencing appointments when they email their confirmations to TripIt.
This is the first time that TripIt has recognized videoconferencing virtual-meet-ups as part of its travel-itinerary organizing.
“Currently it is working via the email confirmation, which allows our customers to visualize their virtual face-to-face meetings integrated with all their other ‘travel’ information,” says Glenn Wastyn, CEO of GVN. “We are also working on applying the TripIt button on our website so this happens directly without having to send the email.”
Wastyn says GVN’s telepresence services are available through online booking tools, travel agencies and hotels.
