Expedia looks to Nordic region to boost Egencia corporate travel portfolio

Expedia’s corporate travel arm Egencia is to acquire VIA Travel which describes itself as the leading travel management company in the Nordic region.

Terms of the deal are undisclosed but the acquisition is a further sign of Expedia’s intentions in the business travel arena and is the second by Egencia in recent months.

In December, Egencia acquired France-based Traveldoo with a strategy for the two brands to remain separate entities and for Traveldoo to partner with TMCs and offer a self-booking tool and related technology to larger clients.

VIA Travel’s business spans corporate travel, corporate meetings, marine travel and leisure travel.
