THack returns to London – time for developers to show off their ideas and creativity in travel

After four fabulous events in 2011, Tnooz will be returning to London for its fifth THack developer competition on Thursday 28 June.

THack is Tnooz’s unique event which brings together travel industry APIs and the development community to brainstorm and create new digital travel products and web or mobile-based tools.

Developers from across the travel, tourism and hospitality industry are welcome to attend, as well as engineers and technicians from local academic institutions in the region and other industry verticals.

The event is FREE for developers to attend and participate. Over the coming weeks Tnooz will coordinate the collection of APIs being made available to those taking part in the event.

THack London will follow a similar path to the first THack in February 2011 – developers will have TWO WEEKS to create something using the APIs we are making available, as well as using any other freely available API on the web (such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps, Wikipedia, et al).

A webinar will take place two weeks before the showcase to talk developers through what is available.

Those taking part will then have the opportunity to showcase their efforts in front of other developers, API providers and others in the fabulous screening room at the Soho Hotel in London on the afternoon of Thursday 28 June.

Developers unable to attend live can present via a pre-recorded video.

  2. Brannon Winn says:

With our general release of our FastSearch product this week, Vayant is really looking forward to seeing what the development community comes up with that will use our sub-second search to inspire travelers!

  3. Phil Donathy says:

Travelport are delighted to be involved and we’re looking forward to seeing what gets developed. We’ll have technical experts on hand but if anyone wants to get a headstart, you can access the universal API SDK at http://developer.travelport.com. You can request test access online and we’ll get you a set of 30 day test credentials.. It normally only takes a few minutes.

Feel free to get in touch with any questions.

    - While it is remarkably straight forward and quite well structured, our team will be available to support developers working with our API.

  7. We’d like to thank Tnooz for allowing us to participate in THack again this year. If any one is interested in creating a social travel, shopping, or location service have a look at our API.

We’ve created a significant amount of code libraries this time around and its all available for free on Github. If your interested in creating something similar to the current crop of social travel applications, a better Instagram, a Deem competitor, or the next Pinterest, its easy to grab some code and get started.

  9. We would like to thank Tnooz for letting us participate in the THack London event!

Evature enables developers to replace the regular (slow/boring/click-intensive) user interfaces with (fast/easy to use/cool) free-text or voice driven ones.

We posted everything you need to know about how to use the EVA API, in our blog at: http://blog.evature.com

Please contact us if you have any questions or comments and we will be very happy to help.

Have a great time hacking away!

  10. We’ve also created a page with a documentation about our API: http://developer.localguiding.com

We would like to hear your feedback. Feel free to contact us anytime.
