What else is going on in the world of travel tech? A round-up of other stories from across the industry…

  • VFM Leonardo is helping hotels optimised their websites for tablets via its VPowered Tablet Website technology. The service enables hotels to display images and video, offer booking via a link to a mobile booking engine and update content via a web-based management tool.
  • Air Asia has partnered with Flocations to unleash a Chrome-based web application. The service enables online booking in four steps and also features a ‘discover’ function that enables travellers to see on a map what destinations they can fly to based on criteria including budget, departure date and departure point.
  • Concur has boosted its technology for mid-sized companies with invoice management functionality. The service has been added to the Standard Edition platform to help companies improve efficiency and avoid mistakes made through manual processes.
  • More than 70% of business travellers would select an airline on its availability of wifi according to a GBTA Foundation study. The availability of AC power and mobile phone services were also flagged up as motivators for purchase for 59% and 54% of passengers respectively.
