eDestinos soars to number one spot – Top Brazil travel sites, July 2012

Massive jump in fortunes for eDestinos in Brazil after it jumped from sixth to first position in the list of leading travel websites in the country in July.

The site managed to blow away its rivals during the month, extending its share of the agency category from 5% to almost 26%, perhaps due to some significant marketing activity or promotion.

As a result, previous market leader Decolar fell back to second spot with a 5.5% decline of its own.

    Hi,

    Today I tried to access a website and the domain was not found. So, as usual, I was redirected to one of those “Domain not found” pages trying to sell domains and, for my surprise, it automatically REDIRECTED to eDestinos.com.br!!!! The website I was looking for is not related at all with travel. I live in Brazil.

    If the traffic they are getting is mostly from these type of sources then it’s easy to understand how they reached #1. But I don’t know the company, don’t know their strategy and have no further information regarding their marketing… What happened to me could be isolated and maybe these guys are doing and awesome job attracting quality visitors.

    I’m just sharing as a curiosity for those who are also wondering how can they increase traffic so fast and aggressive.
