Destination app to give kids a voice in travel planning process [VIDEO]

Here’s a cute idea for a travel application scheduled to launch in December on both Apple and Android devices.

The destination app is being developed for kids by kids with youngsters being asked to do a 12 month stint on a board of directors and create a video on what they like about their home town to be included on a ‘Meet A Local Kid’ section of the app.

Sydney is the first destination to feature on the service, being developed by Bound Round, which will also include stories, photos, videos and games as well as enable children to put together a journal of their trip.

Here’s a clip with some telling and funny answers from kids on what their parents organise for them to do:

The app, which can be used offline, is available in two versions to tap into different age groups and also enables kids to read the information themselves or have it read to them.

Bound Round is promising to donate funds to Room to Read, a charity promoting literacy, for the next two years every time the app is purchased.
