Allegiant Air hands iPads to flight crews thanks to FlyDesk software [UPDATED]

Tnooz has already reported how pilots love their iPads, with approximately 30,000 pilots currently using the tablets in-flight, such as on Alaska Airlines, American, and United.

We’ve also noted how iPads are moving into the cabins, too, with British Airlines handing out iPads to flight attendants across its fleet.

Now there’s more news on iPads and flight attendants.

FlyDesk Cabin enables cabin crews to go “paperless”, by replacing binders and manuals with digital replicas, along with a “secure e-mail communication tool.”

Starting in December, US regional carrier Allegiant Air and three low cost carriers outside the US say they will hand out FlyDesk Cabin-capable tablets and software fleet-wide.

UPDATE 5 December: And those airlines are: VivaAerobus, Air Baltic and Eurolot.

The cloud-based FlyDesk software and hardware solution was created by Las Vegas’s Allegiant Systems, a joint venture of Allegiant Travel (the company that owns Allegiant Air), Lixar and AvIntel.
