El Al shows a sense of humor with Facebook campaign [VIDEO]

El Al Israel Airlines is running a Facebook campaign aimed at Americans and promoting a video in which comedians try various stunts to get into first class.

Starring unpaid comedians, the two-minute video is titled “Excuses El Al Passengers Use to Obtain Free Upgrades.”

Yesterday the video was posted on El Al’s Facebook page. Facebook users who “like” the airline’s page and watch the video will be entered into a contest where a prize is a vacation to Israel.

The video, which was created by the Brand New agency, is being promoted with display ads on Facebook that are targeted demographically.

The airline says that some funny excuses its flight attendants have heard and that didn’t make the cut for the video include:

  • I just got divorced and the guy I’m sitting next to looks like my ex.
  • Can you please upgrade my mother-in-law because she is driving me crazy?
  • I can breathe better in first class.
