Love is in the air – Mr & Mrs Smith hopes so with Facebook trip hint service

St Valentine’s Day is upon us, which means every travel brand on the planet (kind of) is trying to woo lovestruck couples to splash out on a romantic trip of some kind.

Most of the promos are pretty lame (if the volume of press releases into the Tnooz inbox are anything to go by.

But luxury hotel platform Mr & Mrs Smith has taken a different approach, assuming some folk might need a bit of prompting when it comes to rekindling their love life.

And thus Hint Hint was born, a quirky and ultimately just a-bit-of-fun Facebook application designed to drive fans to book a saucy getaway around Valentine’s Day.

The app allows users to select a string of cheeky messages and suitably inspiring travel picture to automatically populate a spouse, partner or, err, lover’s Facebook page.

Targeted at the brand’s core audience of couples in their 20s and 30s (phew, rules most of the Tnooz crew out then), the posts then direct the recipient – either as a timeline or private message – over to the main Smith Facebook page to see the offers.

Little different than a mailshot, if nothing else.
