Get inspired by this month’s best travel videos, as picked by Vimeo

Video-sharing site Vimeo tends to rise above the mass-market clutter of YouTube to showcase the best in digital film, and the platform regularly releases its staff picks for the best videos.

In the past month, several of the top videos have been about travel. These videos blow out of the water many of the (much more expensively made) promos shot for direct marketing organizations and online travel companies.

So get inspired with these travel-themed videos, all uploaded in the past month. Watch in Fullscreen & HD with sound for the best quality.

Ísland

There’s something about the otherworldly landscape of Iceland that has drawn artistic filmmakers to shoot their best short movies work there. Maybe the island is the Montmartre of the digital era.

Canadian Ryan Walker shot this film in June 2012 and posted it on Vimeo a couple of weeks ago.

Great list! The roadtrip USA one really inspired me and I plan on doing a USA roadtrip in a month! I also wanted to share mine with the community. It’s called, 2012: The Year The World Didn’t End. Ended up traveling to 19 countries this past year and plan to keep on going!

These videos are inspirational and it is amazing what some of these people are doing here. I especially like the China one. Too bad they didn’t label which cities were which.

Packing my bags (and cameras) now – forget about traditional ‘hosted’ travel videos, these are the real deal. Not for armchair travelers, these videos are about getting out there and absorbing it all. Stunning!
