Dwellable releases Android app, also ready for iPhone 5
Dwellable has released its latest figures on mobile usage to coincide with the launch of its Android application. The vacation rental site says 58% of visits were from mobile users in the past 90 days and that mobile travellers viewed four times more pages than web users. Traffic increased 34% across all users over the same period while mobile share increased 5%. The company has also developed an app for iPhone 5.
India-based travel portal serves up holiday ideas
HolidayIQ has devised a recommendations engine called Holiday Ideas. The technology uses an algorithm to trawl through destinations, hotels, sightseeing attractions and events to match the user’s basic requirements with travel suggestions.
HG2 revamps website
Travel guide specialist HG2 has upgraded its website with larger images and more up-to-date reviews. The company says the search facility has been revamped to be more user-friendly with additional filters including Budget Chic and Neighbourhood Vibe. The site is supported by bookable itineraries via Abercrombie & Kent.
ATPi goes further with mobile app
ATPi has enhanced its ‘On the Go’ mobile app for corporate travellers. The service, initially launched earlier this year, now enables flight booking for scheduled and low cost flights as well as an improved mobile itinerary. The app, available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry, also offers a currency converter, world clock and contact details for all of ATPi locations.
FCm partners with Trondent
Still on business travel and Flight Centre-owned firm FCm Travel Solutions is to use profile management technology from Trondent. FCm chose Trondent as it has worked with the company for a number of years and will now roll out ProFILER Express and ProFILER Synch alongside its existing profile management systems.
