Continental Airlines reopened Terminal C at Houston’s Bush International Airport, expanding its ticketing and check-in area to more than 57,000 square feet and adding 56 self-service kiosks to the mix.

The airline will begin this summer installing Gogo Inflight Internet service on the carrier’s 21 Boeing 757-300 aircraft. Powered by Aircell network, the Wi-Fi service will be available in the lower 48 states — the continental U.S. — starting at $4.95, depending on the flight length.
Around these parts — North America — Air Canada, AirTran, American Airlines, Delta, United and Virgin America offer Gogo Wi-Fi at least on some flights. US Airways plans to introduce Gogo Internet service on its 50 A321 aircraft “early in 2010.”

Delta Air Lines and Continental Airlines both raised their fees for first and second checked bags to $25 and $35, respectively, while offering discounts of a sort to travelers who check in online.
Other airlines may soon be matching or raising fees.
With all of the inconvenience that travelers went through post-Christmas after the Northwest Airlines terrorism incident, the bag fee hikes add insult to injury, so to speak. And, that’s especially true since there have been restrictions on, and more inspections of, carry-on luggage.
