Our History

Founded in 2009, tnooz is the original independent voice in travel and hospitality technology. Our mission is to be the brightest source of travel technology news, analysis, and viewpoints from around the travel and hospitality industries

We look behind the news to provide commentary and actionable analysis for travel professionals across all segments of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. We reach more than 300,000 travel professionals each month through our newsletters, articles, live shows, and speaking engagements all across the world.

Our international team of reporters and contributors bring the latest news and opinion to the travel sector and its related and diverse industries. And guest editorial posts by subject-matter experts provide unique perspectives.

In the constantly changing digital travel economy, new entrants disrupt the status quo, established players consider how best to adapt and grow, and technology at the heart of this evolution advances at a dizzying pace. Nowhere else on the web covers this ecosystem like tnooz.

Our founding story

Launched in September 2009, tnooz was the first independent voice covering the travel and hospitality technology industries. We focus on technology, digital distribution, media and marketing, web strategy, startups and financing in the travel sector.

After careers in the media, research, events and technology, founders Gene Quinn, Kevin May and Frederic Lalonde saw a gap in the media landscape for a fresh, upfront and analytical approach to covering technology in the world’s largest industry.

In the summer of 2017, after a stint as Sabre’s Senior Brand Journalist, Nick Vivion returned home to tnooz in the role of Editorial Director. The evolution continues, and just like the travel industry, it’s those who change last who suffer most.
