China outbound operator Shijiebang acquires social travel company Tukeq

Shijiebang, China-based outbound travel focused company, has fully acquired a local social travel company Tukeq.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Tukeq’s content will be integrated with Shijiebang, the pair says in a statement. Shijiebang will also expand its mobile service offerings via Tukeq’s existing network of users.

Founded in March 2011, Tukeq allows travellers to organize their travel plans by sharing, following and viewing plans of fellow users.

Two-year-old Shijiebang provides customisable and self-service tour products for outbound travellers. Recently, it raised about $10 million in Series A funding led by angel investors such as Jerry Yang (co-founder of Yahoo), Fosun Capital Group and Chinarock Capital Management.

Shijiebang’s competitors in China include UkubangWeego.meYiqifeiTuniu (filed for a $120 million US IPO), AoyouUzai, and Lvmama.
