Google Flight results get the RouteHappy treatment

Google has agreed a deal with RouteHappy to integrate details of wifi and other facilities available on flights into Google Flight Search results.

The data, from RouteHappy’s ‘Scores and Happiness Factors’ API, will enable users of GFS view and compare flights according to services offered including wifi and seat type.

RouteHappy, founded two years ago (TLabs here), draws its data from its in-house Flightpad and Flightmatch systems. The startup researches what’s available on flights by aircraft, cabin and schedule drawing the information together from various different sources into Flightpad.

According to the company, Flightmatch is a set of algorithms that match and apply scores and ratings for flights.

Back in December RouteHappy announced funding to the tune of $3.3 million with the company saying the investment would go towards speeding up development of its RouteHappy Hub.

The company’s Scores and Happiness Factors have also been integrated into Expedia flight searches.

In a statement, RouteHappy chief executive Robert Albert says:

“Air travel has never been more differentiated, with airlines investing billions of dollars in their products and fundamentally changing how they sell flights. Airlines and distributors need data, content, and tools to manage their product differentiation.”
