How the iPhone has been making its mark on travel [INFOGRAPHIC]

The iPhone is 10 years old this year so Travelport has taken the opportunity to look at how it has impacted travel.

Elements which standout include the evolution of mobile apps as well as how teletext-based services have declined.

Further development of the iPhone is a certainty and the iPhone 8 release, anticipated in the next few days, is expected to include facial recognition functionality, which will further impact travel.

Already, a number of airports and airlines are trialling this kind of technology including Delta, Finnair, JetBlue and KLM for services such as check-in, bag-check and boarding.
