We can also see this for on-board and airport shopping. Every day we get more search strings for “can I pre-order” or “online duty-free at xxxxx airport”. The consumer now wants to pre-research and organise his trip, including his shopping experience. He knows what he is looking for and wants to see the prices and if the products are available at his destination or en route.

Another big increase in searches is for the purchase of electronic products, such as phones or tablets on the journey, because it is perceived that there is a price and tax-saving to be made.
