Travelport launches Fusion, Village Hotels chat with Alexa, and more…

Tuesday 20 June 2017:

Travelport launches Fusion service

  • Travelport Digital has created the mobile app for airlines and has a number of features including booking, check-in, boarding, passport scanning, travel assistance, itinerary management and flights alerts. Fusion will work with all existing airline IT hosting platforms.

Friday 16 June 2017:

Village Hotels chat with Alexa

  • The Amazon-run device will be installed in guest rooms across the 28-strong portfolio of properties around the UK. The Alexa app will answer questions about the property, organise wake-up calls and also connect to the device’s web search services.

Tuesday 13 June 2017:

Immfly targets big brands

  • Vodafone and Amercian Express are two of the major companies working with the in-flight entertainment provider to sponsor channels within the seat units. Campaigns include “over-the-air” content as well as destination guides and other services within the IFE systems.

Friday 2 June 2017:

Lufthansa crew get minis

  • Some 20,000 iPad Minis are being deployed to all members of the Lufthansa cabin crew over the coming weeks. The Electronic Flight Bag (already in use by pilots) will give access to passenger details, schedules, seating plans and other information about a flight.
