What Else? MobilyTrip 170,000 pix, ReviewPro hires, Trafficmaster Olympics
What else is going on in the world of travel tech? A round-up of other stories from across the industry?
- Mobile experience-sharing service MobilyTrip has reached a number of new milestones. The app now has 125 destination travel guides, all available without a live web connection. Currently around 35,000 places in 97 countries have been referenced by users of the service, using 170,000 photos (140,000 of which are shared publicly).
- ReviewPro celebrating some new hires with two joining its commercial team. Coming in from Hotwire is Jay Hubbs who will become vice president of regional sales in North America. Based in San Francisco, Hubbs previously oversaw hotel relationships at the Expedia-owned company. Meanwhile, Daniel Zelling will become director of strategic accounts for Northern and Eastern Europe, based in Barcelona. He previously held director positions at Pegasus Solutions and MICROS-Fidelio.
- While many question London’s ability to cope with a deluge of people and additional traffic as a result of the London 2012 Olympics this summer, satnav provider Trafficmaster is trying to get ahead of any potential chaos by updating its system to account for when particular routes will be affected. Diversion and disruption data will also be fed in real-time as and when problems occur over the course of the event.
