What else is going on in the world of travel tech? A round-up of other stories from across the industry.

  • Via.me is the latest app from RadiumOne, a service which lets users take, filter and share videos, pictures and other content across multiple social networks. The first iteration of Via.me is available only for the iPhone and follows previous RadiumOne app Ping.me. Via.me acts also acts as a content editor before users can post to the likes of Facebook and Twitter.
  • Pegasus Solutions is speaking with an even louder voice as a result of opening an additional call centre in the US. The move sees it support the existing four operations around the world, working in 11 different languages and bolstering help in 30 countries. The Pegasus Voice Services product is designed to help hotels reduce overheads by providing reservation tools via the phone. Meanwhile the OpenFlex service from Pegasus, a tool to allow hotel to deliver product and content to mobile devices, is now available on the Pegasus Open Hospitality system.
  • SITA and Egis – through subsidiary Egis Avia – have been selected by UK air traffic service NATS to provide data link front end processing systems. The move will enable NATS to meet a European Commission deadline in 2013 for implementation of controller pilot data link communications (CPDLC) across Europe. NATS currently covers routes in UK airspace and the eastern part of the North Atlantic.
  • Group Travel Partners is keeping an eye of group travel with the launch of a real-time monitoring service of multi-person bookings. The system works by recognising and managing multiple passengers per Passenger Name Record (PNR). Handlers can view and be notified of issues as they happen, such as when groups or individuals within a party are delayed or stranded. SafeToGo was developed in conjunction with Canada-based MagnaTech Travel Management Systems.

Correction please. SafeToGo is a MagnaTech product released in January 2012. The web site link in the article about our customer, Group Travel Partners, is not correct. The right link is http://www.magnatech.com.
